The SkyNet® Fast Ethernet Series solution is the culmination of over two years development and the proof of PAV's dedication to maintain a position as market leader in the design and manufacture of Free Space Optical transmission systems.
Utilising our proven plug and play format the SkyNet® Series Fast Ethernet solutions provides a protocol independent, full wirespeed, connection for 100 Mb/s Fast Ethernet data networks over distances of up to 500, 2000 and 4000 metres.
Connectivity:
Connections between the Infra red heads and the relevant networks is carried out via fibre optic cable or UTP which is connected via either an SC connector to a transceiver or an RJ45 connector located within the Infra red head.
Configuration:
The SkyNet® Series Fast Ethernet solutions have been designed to act as a direct replacement for fibre optic and UTP cable between sites and can connect routers, bridges or switches without affecting network performance and without introducing additional latency. As with other products within our portfolio the Fast Ethernet solutions offer true plug and play connectivity and require no software configuration.
Security:
The SkyNet® Series Fast Ethernet solutions benefits from the highly proven error resisting coding utilised within our other product ranges and therefore fully benefits from the highly secure connection available and the ability to be transparent to RF scanners or spectrum analysers.
Performance:
The system offers an industry accepted performance availability figure, which, through field trials and independent laboratory testing, has achieved a continuous operational availability in excess of 99.1% to 99.9% within the UK and worldwide.
All PAV systems hav been designed to the highest specifications and offer a bit error rate greater than 10-10 during operational availability.
